Best Multicam Chest Rig in 2026: Raider Chest Rig Review — Lightweight Tactical Load Bearing Done Right
Share
Why Chest Rigs Are Making a Comeback
Plate carriers are the standard for ballistic protection — but not every mission requires armor. Chest rigs have surged in popularity for training and range sessions where ballistic protection isn't the priority, reconnaissance and patrol where weight and speed matter more, airsoft and simulation training, competition shooting where unrestricted movement is a competitive advantage, and use as a supplement to a plate carrier.
The Raider Chest Rig Multicam from Specter Defense is built for all of these applications.
What's Included in the Raider Package
- Raider Chest Rig (Multicam)
- 2x Single Handgun Magazine Pouches
- 1x Utility Pouch — tools, medical, or admin gear
- 1x Radio Pouch — for communication equipment
- Adjustment straps and hardware
5-Rifle Magazine Capacity — AK and AR Compatible
The Raider's main body accommodates 5 rifle magazines compatible with both AK-47/AK-74 series and M4/AR-15 platform STANAG magazines. This dual compatibility makes the Raider a versatile platform for operators running either platform.
Ultra-Lightweight Design — Built for Extended Operations
The Raider is designed to be as light as possible while still providing a full loadout capability. The 500D Cordura construction hits the right balance: light enough to wear for extended periods without fatigue, durable enough to handle field conditions, with padded shoulders to reduce pressure from loaded magazine weight during long wear.
Multicam Pattern
The Raider runs in Multicam — the most operationally versatile camouflage pattern available. It works across woodland, desert, urban, and mixed-terrain environments and integrates seamlessly with Multicam plate carriers and warbelt systems:
- FAPV Gen5 Multicam — wear together for full plate + chest rig combo
- Warbelt Multicam — complete the three-piece kit
