FAPV Gen5 Full Assault Package Vest: Best All-In-One Plate Carrier System in 2026?
What Is the Full Assault Package Vest?
Most plate carriers ship as a shell. You buy the carrier, then spend $100–$300 more on pouches before you have a functional loadout. The Full Assault Package Vest (FAPV) Gen5 from Specter Defense takes a different approach: it ships as a complete, mission-ready system with every pouch you need already attached.
No guesswork. No chasing compatible pouches. No extra spend before you're operational.

FAPV Gen5 vs. FAPV Gen5-QR: What's the Difference?
| Feature | FAPV Gen5 | FAPV Gen5-QR |
|---|---|---|

| Rear Bag | 10x12 flatpack | 10x12 rear bag |
| Construction | 1000D Cordura | 1000D Cordura |

The Gen5-QR adds emergency quick-release detachment buckles — critical for operations where rapid carrier removal may be necessary.
1000D Cordura vs. 500D Cordura — Why It Matters
The FAPV Gen5 uses 1000D Cordura Nylon — a heavier denier for maximum durability in demanding conditions. 1000D is heavier, tougher, and more abrasion-resistant; ideal for high-contact combat and field environments.
Advanced Detachable Padding System
The FAPV Gen5 features an advanced detachable padding system — a significant upgrade from standard foam inserts. The padding improves comfort during extended operations, can be removed for washing or replacement, and channels airflow to reduce heat buildup.
